Maple Dill Carrots
1/2 lb. baby carrots
1 T. butter
1 t. dried dill
2 T. maple syrup
Steam the carrots then add the butter, dill and maple syrup and let it thicken up into a nice little sauce.
Here's how it went down in my kitchen tonight...
Did you know baby carrots aren't really baby at all? They're kind of like carrot 'scraps' from what I understand. Nice, huh? Here are our steamed carrot scraps meeting butter.
And now my semi-dried dill is coming to the party. 'Semi-dried' you might ask? I'll get to that in another post. It apparently takes a while to dry herbs. Who knew?
And my hubby's yummy local maple syrup. No, he didn't make it. He just doesn't like to share it.
To be honest, they could have used a little more dill.
I was so glad I got at least one good shot of the finished carrots on the plate because this was my next shot...
The power went out because this was going on outside...
Again, the yard is a work in progress. |
Gotta love spring in Indiana.
