We've been rather frustrated as of late. It has taken FOREVER to get our homestudy completely processed. The home visit, interview and paperwork are just one piece of it. Just when we thought we were through with that step, something else came up - the agency sent in the wrong paperwork to the state, they forgot they needed additional documents, they needed more money. It's extremely frustrating when you don't have any control over the process.
We do have a few positive notes to share:
Our adoption education courses start next week. Because we want to adopt from a Hague country, we have to take 10 hours of adoption education. Our first course is titled Preparation & Adjustment. The next course is called Children without Families . Hopefully each course will help us prepare ourselves to better welcome orphaned children home and help us deal with the emotional issues that abandoned and institutionalized children face.
We now have our passports in hand.
Our fundraiser yard sale is really coming along. We're holding it on May 25th and 26th. My parents generously rented a building for us at the local fairgrounds. It has been amazing how many people want to help. We will be forever grateful. Our families have given items to sell, made some pre-sale purchases and offered their time setting up or during the sale. People from both of our jobs have donated items to sell or given us a cash donation or offered to loan us tables to use. We are so thankful for everyone's generosity and we're trying to find a way to properly thank them. The thank-you cards we're sending aren't enough, in our minds.
Can you believe all this stuff that's been donated? How great is that!?
It's been a while since you last updated us regarding the adoption. How is it going now? I hope all the balls are rolling in the process. When all things are all right, please do update us to introduce the angel you've chosen to add to your family.
