Stuff in Jars

Hubz and I took an extra long Labor Day weekend to get some things done around the homestead.  When I returned to work this morning, my co-worker asked me what I did on my 5-day weekend.  I couldn't remember all the details, what we did each day, where we went, but I did recall that I put a lot of stuff in jars.  Such as...

Black Raspberry Jelly

and Sunflowers

some Spaghetti Sauce

my Coffee and Sugar

a new favorite, Apple-Maple Jam (recipe coming soon)

And look, more jars waiting to be filled with more stuff.  Perhaps if my darling sister, GoddessK, returns Mom's dehydrator I can fill these two with apple rings or dried mushrooms or strips of yummy sugar melon.  (I wonder if she'll read this - love ya girl!)

What have you put in jars recently - food or otherwise?  What do you use jars for?

  1. I have sugar for coffee in a jar--I don't have a sugar bowl. I have FLAX SEED in a jar. I have matches in a jar and tea bags in another. I have my seeds for spring in the fridge...in a jar too!

  6. I really want to try that Apple Maple Jam too. Thanks for posting. I love your pictures. I have coffee beans, tea bags, sugar cubes, red beans, black beans, oats, and more in my kitchen jars. In the pantry I have my canned goods like tomato sauce, veggies, and jams. Thanks for the great post. Very inspirational.
